Nice work on landscape gardening, with the often lacking rare second part Der plauische Grund bei Dresden, mit Hinsicht auf Naturgeschichte und schöne Gartenkunst. Nuremberg, Frauenholzischen Kunsthandlung, 1799. 2 parts in 1 volume. Folio. The first part with a fine large folding engraved map and 16 full engraved plates of the "Plauische Grund" between Dresden and Tharand, the second part with 1 folding and 7 full-page hand-coloured engraved plates, illustrating profiles and geological structures of the region and insects. Contemporary half calf, spine gilt. Rare work on landscape gardening, this copy complete with the usually lacking part on natural history. "Meisterwerk der Dresdner Landschaftskunst des späten 18. Jahrhunderts" (Lanck.-Oehler). Twelve of the very fine views of the first part are made after drawings by the famous Johann Christian Klengel (1751-1824). Part 2 comprises three parts, each with its own divisional title: I. Andreas Tauber, Mineralogische Beschreibung des plauischen Grundes bis Tharand (pp. 1-44, containing the 4 fine handcoloured geological plates). II. Friedriech Traugott Pursch, Verzeichnis der im plauischen Grunde und den zunächst angrenzenden Gegenden wildwachsenden pflanzen (pp. 45-94, without plates). III. Ludwig Heinrich Freiherrn von Block, Verzeichnis der merkwürdigsten Insecten welche im plauische Grunde gefunden werde (pp. 95-120, with the 4 fine handcoloured plates of insects).
