Engraved title page and 30 plates ( 177 x 145 mm) designed by Vaenius and engraved by C. Boel (13), E. van Paenderen (13), C. Galle (2) and G Swanenburg (2). Below the plates is a 5 line engraved explanation in Latin. Original blue paper wrapper. Stabbed. Edges cut flush.

Second edition (first 1610) of this uncommon print series of Otto Vaenius. In this second edition a typeset part of 32 pages in Dutch is added, which contains "Het leven van den H. Thomas van Aquinen" and the Dutch translation of the Latin explanations below the plates. -Provenance: Ex dono to Maurice de Robiano (1815-1869), Belgian senator, from "son oncle de Ghyseghem [...] 5 aout 1825", in manuscript on the title page. -Literature: Funck 404 (ed. 1610); Hollstein III 7 n. 10-22; Brunet V 1026. -Condition: Paper on the spine a bit damaged; Else a very fine copy.
