Sehr seltenes Künstlerbuch von Gabriele Stötzer, damals noch Gabi Kachold. Eins von 50 Exemplaren, hier no. 14. Gabriele Stötzer (*1953) is a German writer and artist. From 1982 to 1988, she produced 13 artist's books of text, photographs and drawings. Printed copies of her works also appeared in various underground magazines (und, mikado, ariadnefabrik, KomaKino). Before the fall of the Berlin Wall, Stötzer-Kachold was a co-founder of an Erfurt group called "Women for Change" and co-initiated the first occupation of a GDR state security headquarters in Erfurt on December 4, 1989, and subsequently participated in the Citizens' Council and Citizens' Committee. In 1990 she co-founded the Erfurt association „Kunsthaus". Working in a variety of media, Stötzer is now considered one of the most important German feminist artists of her generation. Despite the repression imposed on her by the political system of the GDR, she developed an art practice that was groundbreaking for many themes of contemporary political art, questioning gender roles and cultural norms through performance, photography, textiles, writing, painting, and film. With the body as the starting point and subject of her artistic work, Stötzer created a body of work that is unique in its scope.- Henkel/Russ B 129.
