Contemporary brown calf, blind and large gilt stamped borders, gilt stamped decoration and name BERTHE at center of front cover (hinges slightly cracking). 52 leaves (last 38 blank), 26 photographs of various sizes (some of them unfinished proofs) on the first 13 leaves, 5 watercolor drawings and one charcoal portrait signed by Joseph Haley, Boston transcript. Several photographs bear blind stamps from renowned photographers of the time, including the still-operational Bachrach Photographers; Theodore Marceau, a pioneer of photographic studios; White Studio, known for innovations in theatrical photography; the Arlington Studio in Boston; and Nicholas Muray, noted for his portraits of Frida Kahlo. Contemporary brown calf, blind and large gilt stamped borders, gilt stamped decoration and name BERTHE at center of front cover (slightly worn at spine). 53 leaves containing various press clippings (from The Harvard Crimson, The Boston Sunday Globe, The Boston Telegram, The New York Herald) manuscript letters addressed to Miss Berthe Braggiotti, theatre brochures, programes, invitations, business cards with handwritten dedications, envelopes and a typed script titled “The chosen King” by Esta Mae Barr, which includes the first act of the play, facing a striking photograph of the actors on stage during its premiere at the Boston Opera House on May 10, 1920. The album also includes a copy of the original program, issues of the VINCENT CLUB magazine (from 1920 and 1922) and the BENEFIT ACTOR’S FUND journal from 1921.
