Cont. red calf spine on five raised bands, second compartment with gilt stamped title, all others with floral gilt stamped vignette. Front cover with blind stamped initials "J. D. de N.". Marbled end-papers. 4to (275 x 215 mm). Upper spine end with tiny defect.

The illustrations of the bird species on the plates are most likely chromoxylographs; most plates show two species, all are surrounded by grey frames and feature printed captions. A beautiful, wide margined copy in terms of content. The only other copy I was able to locate was one offered for sale as part of the library of the scholar and bibliographer René Ronsil (Reiss & Auvermann. Auction 43-1990, no. 23). OCLC lists only one copy in Cambridge, Waddleton Chronology.
