Leaf (2), containing the printed dedication, in the second work has an old repair in the lower margin and to some extent into the text, which has caused small text loss. Previous shelfmarks in brown ink on front pastedown, and with the bookplate of Gunnar Brusewitz and his signature in pencil dated Rome 1947.

Contemporary, somewhat worn but attractively glazed dark blue boards with gilt-ruled spine, gilt spine title, and blue-speckled edges. The first title leaf is lightly soiled. Minor repairs and reinforcement to the inner margin of the first gathering (pp. 1–16). Scattered foxing throughout, with somewhat heavier spotting on pp. 36–44 of the first part and pp. 77–80 of the second part. The final leaf has a small repair to the lower margin. On the front pastedown are the erroneous inscription ”af Vulpius” and the correct inscription stating that the book was prosecuted. A fine copy from the Ericsberg library, with the armorial bookplate of Carl Jedvard Bonde.

Rather soiled and stained from heavy use, especially towards the end. A three cm tear in the outer margin of the title page. The final leaf with a paper loss to the upper margin. Various ink scribbles on the pastedowns. The final blank bears an early manuscript note stating, among other things, that this book is now the best in this genre. Ownership inscriptions ”A. Light foxing and staining to margins, occasionally heavier. A few plates with negligible foxing in the picture area. The first plate with a tear extending from the lower margin, stopping just short of the caption beneath the image. Plate 30 has a tiny paper loss at the lower outer corner and a somewhat unevenly trimmed lower edge. Split in the inner margin between plates 33 and 34, with a few small stains in that area. Plate 46 with a small tear in the lower margin and a somewhat unevenly trimmed lower edge. Front cover with contemporary ink shelf number ”17”. An old stamp in the outer margin of first plate. The verso of the first plate bears Jacob De la Gardie’s engraved armorial bookplate. The first plate also bears his stamped shelfmark, ”Q. 1.”, in the upper margin, as well as the ink inscription ”Tom 2. pag 607” in the lower margin. Front pastedown with the Charlottenlund bookplate.
