Aussführliche Eröffnung, I. Was es mit der cimbrischen und mitternächtischen Völcker, als Sachsen, Gothen, Wenden und Fresen ihrem Götzendienst, Haynen, Oraculen, Zaubereyen, Begräbnissen u.d.gl. von uhralters her vor eine Bewandtsniss gehabt, und was von derselben Antiquitäten noch hin und wieder zu finden sey. Endlich auch, wie diese Völcker aus dem Heydenthumb mit grosser Mühe zum wahren christlichen Glauben gebracht und bekehret worden. Worinnen auch des uhralten Grönlands, und deren Einwohner ehemahliger Zustand und Bekehrung, angeführet und beschriben wird, welches Land sonst anitzo nicht mehr zu finden ist. Edition with four of Arnkiel’s works on the Nordic and Germanic pagan religions etc, with a main- and four separate title pages. The first two parts, about religions in general and about the golden horn from Töndern, have been published before, in 1691 resp. 1683. The four works contains much about funeral habits around the world and in Schlesvig-Holstein in particular, much about finds from pre-historic times, and chapters about the baptistiation of the Nordic countries and in Greenland and Iceland. He also compares the Nordic Asa-religion with other pagan religions. In the chapter of the golden horn (now in Rosenberg castle in Sealand) are alse a treatise on ancien horn music! Troels Arnkiel (1639-1712) was a lutheran teologist and priest in Apenrade, and a passionate antiquarie. He did his own excavations Munkvolstrup i souther Schlesvig. His works are still regarded as important for the pre-history of Schlesvig-Holstein.
