278) The Dormition of the Virgin Mary Miniature on vellum cut from a Gradual or Antiphonary. Germany or Flanders, early 16th century. Dimensions: mm. 167 x 147 ca.; On the back gothic text and music on four staves in red and black ink. Inside a letter “C” we can see the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. The Virgin is lying on a bed and surrounded by the twelve Apostles. One Apostle, probably Peter, is reading a book to her. Two fragments of border, probably coming from the same manuscript are added. Preserved in good condition.
