Oratorium about the first christian king of Hungary, Stephan I Szent István Király (c. 975-1038). Silvio Stampiglia (1664–1725) was an Italian poet and librettist, and also one of the 14 founding member of the Accademia dell'Arcadia under the pen name of Palemone Licurio. He started with writing librettos to oratorios before turning to operas. Numerous Italian composers set his libretti to music, especially in Naples. This is his first major work, dedicated to Don Livio Odescalchi, and was set to music by Flavio Carla Lanciani. The former owner was Prince Alexander Erba-Odescalchi (1914-2008). He was born in Budapest but had to flee together with his wife, Margarethe of Habsburg-Lothringen, to Sweden in 1944. He was a lawyer and was in 1999 by Israel awarded the Righteous Among the Nations for his help to jews in Hungary during the second world war. He collected books related to the Odescalchi family.
