Engraved frontispiece,(8),9-215 pp. Title printed in red and black. Attractive but worn contemporary black wrappers with handwritten spine title. Uncut. A few small damp stains, for example in the lower margin of p. 53 and a faint damp mark on the last leaf. With C. F. von Völschow’s signature on the title page.
Ullrich Robinson und Robinsonaden s. 157 (IV:40). The bibliographer Blackwell claimed in 1985 that it was impossible to find a copy of ”Die Insul Charlottenburg”. The novel was written in the same tradition as ”Die Insel Felsenburg”, namely as a combination of utopia and Robinsonade, with a female protagonist at the center. The copy belonged to Major and landowner Carl Fredrik von Völschow (1727–1806).
