Drury’s illustrations and descriptions of exotic insects, with finely illuminated copper plates. (1770) Dru Drury was the son of a silversmith. Thanks to a fortunate marriage and the inheritance of his parents’ business, Drury became a wealthy man and was thus able to devote himself to his great passion, entomology. He was president of the Entomological Society in London, and his collection was already very famous during his lifetime. Print of the first German edition.
