Soulsby A catalogue of the works of Linnæus 340. Bibliotheca Walleriana 11506. Printed dedication from Ferber to among others C. G. Tessin, O. Rudbeck and the two authors. The substantial preface in Swedish is written by Linnaeus’ teacher from Växjö, Johannes Rothman, discusses, among other things, Linnaeus’ new system. According to Fries, the description itself is written by Linné, using his own systematic principles. Olof Rudbeck the younger proofread and edited the catalogue. The botanical gardens of admiralty physician Ferber was founded 1711 in Augerum outside of Karlskrona in southern Sweden and contained rare orangerie-plants as well as medicinal herbs. On pp. 72-76 Ferber’s natural history cabinet is briefly listed as well. This work is one of the earliest Swedish descriptions of a garden, and the first work printed in Sweden arranged according to Linnaeus system.
