Folio, (310 x 230mm), 20p. 50 leaves with phototypes representing over 600 ethnographic types. Original binding with title and publication advert on front and back cover, mounted over new boards, paper a bit browned, overall in good condition. EUR 15000,- Extremely rare publication in spanish about the Philippines tribes at Luzon and Mindanao. Explicative text of each photographic plate. This book was published at Dresden in two editions (german and Spanish – both are very rare). Some tribes are here represented for the first time like the Guinaanes, Banaos, Silipanes, Calingas , Apayaos and Quinganes. It is a cornerstone for the graphic representation of the Philippines tribes that Schadenberg carried out on the spot during some years. This graphic book is extremely rare so we have tracked only two copies outside Spain at Worldcat: State Library of NSW Sydney and AU NS 2000 Australia. No copy at the British Library and Library of Congress.

Antiphonal, with neumes, containing music for the blessing of the Paschal Candle on Holy Saturday. Southern Germany or Bohemia, mid-fifteenth century. A complete folio leaf (388 x 287 mm, text area 297 x 205 mm), ten lines written in red ink in a gothic liturgical script, ruled in red ink, diamond-shaped musical notation entirely in burnished gold outlined in dark brown ink on ten four-line red staves, large illuminated initial ‘E’ (Exultet jam angelica, 78 x 74 mm) of blue leafy design set against a quadrangular panel of burnished and shell gold framed in pink and enclosing two leafy x-shaped motifs in green, border extension of green foliage enclosing burnished gold bezants, smaller initials in green ink, green ink dividers indicating the relationship of the notes to the words, extensive penwork flourishing in green ink in lower margin of recto and in both upper and lower margins of verso, penwork flourishing in brown ink along inner and outer margins of both recto and verso, rubrics; some light soiling and smudging but generally in excellent condition.

A complete vellum leaf (c. 390 x 295 mm, text area c. 275 x 210 mm), double columns of 50 lines written in brown ink in a neat, slightly slanting Cursiva; one sixteen-line historiated initial ‘O’ (Onus) to recto, in pink with foliate infill, enclosing a bearded Habakkuk (in blue dress and red hat, with a blank white scroll beside him) in a green, hilly landscape, looking up at God in a cloud (with red cloak and gilt halo, holding an orb and pointing), a city in the background, foliate tendrils terminating in three flowers extending from the initial into the border, in blue, green, red, and gold; two three-line initials alternately in red and blue, capitals touched in red, rubrics, headlines in alternating red and blue letters (‘[Haba]cuc’, ‘Sopho[nias]’); historiated initial rubbed and with areas of loss to paint, smudge to border, central horizontal crease from folding, some small tears (without loss) to inner margin, small chip to outer margin, some light marginal staining, slight cockling; in good condition.

Germany, first half of twelfth century. Two bifolia (leaves not consecutive) written in double columns of an angular German romanesque hand, ruled lightly in plummet, adiastematic neumes, blank spaces between words filled with a single red line, marginal differentia, one three-line initial and several two-line initials in red, some with guide-letters, smaller initials in red or in black touched with red, rubrics; recovered from use in bindings and with consequent staining and wear, trimmed at fore-edges just affecting a few rubrics, initials and differentia, a few natural vellum flaws, but generally in very good condition and entirely legible; loose in mid-nineteenth-century marbled boards, large paper label on upper cover describing contents, smaller paper label with class-mark ‘AR.2. 7-18’. 336 x 234 mm (text area 255 x 200 mm).
